Job description
The Information department at St George’s is looking to appoint an experienced information professional to take a lead role managing the trust's enterprise wide reporting platform, Tableau.
You will have expertise in Tableau and lead a small team to manage and administer, while advising, guiding and promoting best practice to developers and users across the trust.
1. Lead a small team of Tableau Administrator and Developers to manage multitier Trust BI environment - Tableau
2. Lead for the Trust in one or more specialist analytical techniques or areas (e.g. forecasting, simulation, statistics, optimisation, experimental design).
3. Establish standards and best practices for content in Trust BI environment
4. Support the Business Intelligence/Analytics data analysts with the understanding of business and data requirements, and iteratively designs visualisations for initial concepts and prototypes that can be presented to customers for feedback
5. Provide proactive support to Trust senior management and clinical teams, by providing them with evidence and advice to support clinical and operational duties.
6. Support the development of analytical capability in the Trust
7. Perform detailed data analysis (i.e. determine the structure, content, and quality of the data through examination of source systems and data samples)
1. Ensure Business Continuity by providing appropriate cross-cover for colleagues, both vertically and horizontally using the matrix style of team-working as required.
1. Work with colleagues in wider Information team to ensure Trust’s information needs are supported in a timely and accurate manner.
2. Act as a Trust’s information representative at key meetings and discussions, both internal and external.

1. Architect a stable Tableau solution guaranteed for high operational availability
2. Work closely with technical architects, data and software engineers to ensure optimal application and database/warehouse design to support reporting requirements.
3. Ensure change management process is in place for software, hardware upgrades, and security patches
4. Monitor server activity/usage statistics to identify possible performance issues/enhancements. Performance tuning/server management of tableau server environment (clustering, load balancing).
5. Apply your information knowledge and expertise to proactively support customers’ information requirements. Including, but not limited to, information and advice on benchmarking, performance metrics, mortality statistics, scenario modelling, demand predictions and capacity assessments.
6. Work across teams to define the business questions that need to be answered. Define appropriate analytics models needed, in addition to identifying and readying relevant data sources for analysis.
