The 6 month – 1 year Industrial Placement Programme
Our Industrial Placement Programme is designed to offer you the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills you require to become an engineering or business professional of the future. On our programme you will engage with challenging and exciting project work, and deliver innovative business or technical solutions as part of a team of subject matter experts. Throughout the programme you will receive coaching and support from your team to achieve your objectives as well as your personal development goals. You will gain a wide array of experience on your placement that you can apply to your academic studies and future career.

What you will do
At Leonardo, we have a fantastic new opportunity for a Finance Industrial Placement. Leonardo is a global high-tech company and one of the key players in Aerospace, Defence and Security. Headquartered in Italy, Leonardo has over 45,000 employees, of which 7,000 are based in the UK.
The Finance Industrial Placement will join the Central Finance Team with Leonardo UK Ltd at our site in Edinburgh.
The placement will assist overhead cost control of the Edinburgh cost base and complete various management reporting requirements. The role can accommodate custom working with a mixture of on-site (to conduct functional review meetings) and home working expected.
Process monthly accruals and prepayments and reconcile various cost overhead accounts- Provide information to the functions and support them in queries relating to expenditure of salary and controllable costs for their cost centres
- Regularly review and challenge the functions at face to face meetings with regards to their expenditure and forecasts for headcount, salary and controllable costs, seeking to ensure that all functions spend within their individual budgets
- Produce cost base and headcount reports for monthly management reporting purposes
- Provide input to the Integrated Business plan and annual budgets in relation to headcount, salary and controllable costs.
- Provide accurate and timely adhoc management information when required

What we are looking for
Mandatory
Please note that in order to apply for this opportunity you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance. Normally this is to the level of Security Check (typically known as “SC”) for our business which includes having a minimum of 5 years permanent residency in the UK.
Qualifications
All of our Industrial Placement roles require a minimum of a predicted 2:1 grade in a relevant degree discipline. For this vacancy, a degree such as Business, Finance or any numerical based subject is ideal if you are looking to gain work experience prior to completing academic studies.
