Introduction to Cities, Planning & Design

Landscape Architecture (Click here for more information and to apply)

Available locations: Bristol or Cardiff

Arup provides an integrated approach and delivers sustainable solutions to the design of cities and complex urban and rural environments. We are a team of landscape architects, GIS, digital and visualisation experts working on a variety of projects across the world. Our landscape architecture teams work side by side with a wide range of Arup's other specialist disciplines, including urban design, architecture, ecology, town planning, sustainability experts, engineering, cost consulting and project management.

We are looking for individuals who are currently working towards a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in landscape architecture/design/planning/management/restoration, architecture, geography, horticulture, garden design, urban design, environmental science or environmental conservation. A Masters or Post Graduate Diploma qualification in Landscape Architecture or Landscape Management is desirable. This opportunity will be based in Bristol

Our Transport Planners specialise in producing sustainable policy, plans, frameworks and masterplans that, in turn, give us the insight to guide projects that are in sympathy with visions for local or regional development. Our planning, policy and economic experts work collaboratively with specialists from a wide range of backgrounds, including environmental, design, energy, sustainability, legal, costing, engineering and infrastructure and transactions to ensure that our advice is pragmatic and delivers value.

We are looking for individuals who are currently working towards a Bachelor's degree in subjects relating to Civil or other Engineering, Geography, Planning, Economics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics, Data/Computer Science with a prediction of 2:1 or higher OR; Data analytics or Transport Planning-based master's degree or other relevant topic with a prediction of Pass or above is advantageous.

What we're looking for:

We're looking for placement students with curiosity, personal drive, design flair and technical knowhow. If you can combine these skills with an understanding of (or willingness to learn about) and a desire to deliver excellent services for clients, we'd like to hear from you.

Arup industrial placement opportunities typically run for 11-12 months. You must be available to start the placement opportunity from Summer 2023 and commit to completing the programme in full.
