Job description
Newlon Housing Trust is a successful charitable housing association and one of the major providers of new affordable housing in north and east London.
We have an opportunity for an experienced and organised individual with excellent customer service skills to join us and provide an efficient and reliable credit control and debt recovery service. This is an interesting and varied role, and your duties will include helping tenants manage their rent payments, liaising with Housing Benefit departments and Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), arranging repayments if necessary, identifying Housing Benefit/Universal Credit (UC) overpayments and producing accurate administration records.
With experience of providing a customer focused service and strong team ethic, you will have good knowledge of the procedures relating to the recovery of outstanding debt and welfare benefits, particularly housing benefit and UC. Excellent communication, numerical and IT skills are essential, along with the ability to travel from site to site, sometimes where convenient public transport is not readily available.
In return, you can expect 27 days holiday, a non-contributory pension, excellent benefits and a flexi scheme. We currently offer the opportunity to work up to 2 days at home (depending on the role). You’ll also be working out of purpose-built offices that form part of the award-winning Hale Village regeneration project, and are situated just two minutes’ walk from the major transport interchange at Tottenham Hale.
