In the role of Incident Manager, you will proactively manage and own the recovery and maintenance of the IS Branch services both internally and for those provisioned by managed service providers.
The successful applicant will own the Incident Management policy and processes to ensure that all incidents are managed effectively through to closure. You will build relationships and dynamically maintain communication flows between internal resources, business and managed service providers in order to coordinate the activities that lead to the resolution of Incidents.
You will ensure incident management standards are adhered to by internal and external partners in relation to the resolution of incidents, acting as coordinator / escalation point for incidents and major incidents.
The successful applicant will be an experienced Incident Manager with strong interpersonal skills and management skills, used to driving timely resolution of IT Incidents in challenging situations. You will be required to review and report on the effectiveness and efficiency of the incident process, prepare post incident reviews, enabling continual service improvements, addressing repeating incidents / remediating points of failure.
There’s never been a more exciting time to join the IT Branch. Having recently completed a Forcewide rollout of Windows 10, implemented a new Network Managed Service and Microsoft 365, our future challenges include delivery of a new Force intelligence system and rollout of SharePoint online, alongside deployment of National Policing IT systems and Mobile Technologies.
GMP IT Services are looking to recruit staff who welcome the challenge of Incident Management in a modern, multi-supplier IT Technical environment, that will stretch the skills of any proactive IT professional.
This role will be based at Unit A, One Central Park, Northampton Road, Manchester M40 5BP/remote.

What is the Residency Criteria?
To be eligible for appointment as a member of police staff, you must be a British citizen or a citizen of a country that is a member of the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland.
