Job description

We are looking for an experienced salesperson with a passion for cars to join our client, an innovative car-buying company, specialising in buying and reselling damaged vehicles. This is a new, innovative service and our client dominates the UK market as the fastest growing company in their sector.

Basic Salary £22,000 to £23,500 (£60,000 to £70,000 OTE)

Fully remote opportunity

Let's say you own a Mercedes E350 and were in an accident. You've taken your car to the garage and they've told you that it would cost £16,000 to repair due to the severe damage but it's only worth £19,000. You'd likely come to the conclusion that it would be better to scrap it and buy a new car.

Most scrap companies would only pay you a very little sum of £200-300 for your written-off vehicle. Our client would offer you a better deal with a free collection service, taking the car off your hands quickly. They would then decide whether to sell the vehicle as scrap, recover the intact parts of the vehicle for salvage or repair the car and sell it as a fully functional vehicle.

You will become an integral part of the company, using your knowledge of cars to walk through the damage to customers' vehicles, negotiate and convert warm, inbound leads into bookings, earning generous commission whilst doing so.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Multi-tasking, using several applications simultaneously and keeping databases updated.
  • Picking up an average of 70-80 inbound leads per day from sellers who have requested a valuation
  • Building rapport with sellers, using your knowledge of vehicles.
  • Converting the leads into bookings and passing them to the appropriate third party.
  • Having the resilience and confidence required to overcome objections and close deals.
  • You should be able to purchase at least 4-6 cars per day - top performers tend to purchase around 9 cars per day, allowing for a £70k OTE.

What we’re looking for:

  • An outstanding track record within sales and tangible evidence to support this.
  • A great knowledge and keen interest in cars.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport and trust with customers.
  • The ability to work in a fast paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
  • A meticulous, organised and driven personality.
  • Good technical abilities, you’ll need to be IT savvy.
  • Ideally a car and driving licence, to be able to reliably commute to the office.
