As an Import/Export Co-ordinator you will be required to utilise your skills in both importing and exporting our products on a global scale. Based within our Shipping Department, you will be working closely with our Compliance and Commercial Teams and will be responsible for processing incoming components whilst managing and maintaining relating import documentation. You will bring excellent import knowledge to the role complimenting the existing export competencies within the team. You will have a high level of accuracy, good time management skills and the ability to work using your own initiative. You will be keen to take on fresh challenges and be willing to develop your knowledge within your role. With the support of the Logistics Supervisor, you will be open to career progression and continued self-development to reach personal and business goals.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Liaison with freight forwarders to verify the accuracy of ETAs on shipments in transit.
- Receive and record all import documentation. Check and verify accuracy of documentation supplied (e.g. Invoice, preference certs, bills of lading and AWB). Liaise with buying department and any other relevant departments for any missing or replacement documentation that may be required.
- Understanding of Free Trade agreements the UK have in place and how to apply the origin rules to the import to claim preference.
- Completion of insurance declaration per import consignment for uninsured shipments calculating insurance premiums due.
- Recording shipment detail onto excel spreadsheet by using a unique referencing system and forwarding all applicable documentation over to the Brokerage Team in Poland.
- Escalate any issues to the Regional Compliance Manger for Europe as appropriate.
- Using the correct valuation methods for returned goods, service and warranty shipments
- Applying for import licences if required.
- Organisation of export shipments, raising invoices, packing lists and other export paperwork that may be required.
- Liaising with Customers, NOV and Customer approved freight forwarding agents for collection & delivery.
- Any other reasonable activities that are assigned.
Qualifications
- Institute of Export – Diploma in International Trade ( Desirable)
Experience:
- Working knowledge of HMRC procedures and regulations.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems
