Then we invite you to apply for the role of a G7 Senior Strategy Adviser in Immigration Enforcement (IE).
This is a ground-breaking time for Immigration Enforcement (IE), as we look to strategically improve every element of our business. As a G7 Senior Strategy Adviser, you will be at the centre of this strategic improvement, based within Strategic Services and Transformation (SST).
SST is responsible for setting IE’s strategic direction and solving strategic problems for the organisation. It is a very welcoming place to work, with a broad range of individuals dealing with a full range of sophisticated high priority issues, all directed towards making sure IE can work effectively and efficiently. The successful candidate will need to be someone who appreciates innovation and who will be a steadfast champion for improving the way we do business, and importantly, be passionate about helping a great organisation become even better.
As a G7 Senior Strategy Adviser, you will work with the business on a ‘priority project’ basis to provide cross cutting insight and support. The role also involves identifying problems and working collaboratively to deliver clarity and solutions to complex issues. Projects can last from a few days to several months. SST works closely with the IE Director General, Executive Board and wider IE senior leadership team, making this a high-profile post with a significant level of exposure to senior managers.

Who are we looking for?
The main responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
- Leading on, or assisting in, projects by working with colleagues across IE to deliver analysis or strategies that aim to improve business performance.
- Consolidating information from across the department to identify evidence gaps and explore new and innovative approaches to inform our future direction.
- Gathering and analysing a range of quantitative and qualitative evidence in order to make evidence-based recommendations for business change.
- Instructing/utilising experts (business change, legal, financial, etc.) to assist with analysis and project delivery as appropriate.
- High quality presentation of project outcomes and analysis in a wide range of media.
- Participate in the development and implementation of IE’s overarching business strategy.
- Building relationships within IE in order to act as an advocate for agreed strategies, identifying issues that would benefit from strategic analysis and act as a conduit to inform the continual development and improvement of business strategy.
- Supporting the team’s planning function by leading on commissions relating to fiscal and strategic workforce planning working closely with finance and HR teams.

The sift will be held on the behaviours Seeing the Big Picture, Communicating & Influencing, Delivering at Pace, Working Together and the statement of suitability (personal statement).
The CV will not be scored.
However, if a large number of applications are received, an initial sift will be conducted on the lead behaviour Seeing the Big Picture. Candidates who pass the initial sift will then be progressed to a full sift which will consist of the behaviours Seeing the Big Picture, Communicating & Influencing, Delivering at Pace, Working Together and the statement of suitability (personal statement).
If you are successful at sift stage, you will be invited to an interview which will be conducted using a blended approach of behaviour-based questions.
You will also be required to prepare a short presentation (no slides or handouts required) to present at interview, further details around what the presentation will entail will be provided before the interview.
Sift and Interview dates
Sift is expected to take place week commencing 3rd May 2023.
Interviews are expected to take place week commencing 23rd May 2023.

Interviews will be carried out via video. Candidates will be required to have access to:

Further Information:
For meaningful checks to be carried out, individuals need to have lived in the UK for a sufficient period of time to enable appropriate checks to be carried out and produce a result which provides the required level of assurance. You should normally have been resident in the United Kingdom for the last 3 years if the role requires CTC clearance, 5 years for SC clearance and 10 years for DV. A lack of UK residency in itself is not necessarily a bar to a security clearance and applicants should contact the Vacancy Holder/Recruiting Manager listed in the advert for further advice.
A location based reserve list of successful candidates will be kept for 12 months. Should another role or similar role become available within that period you may be offered this position.
