Job description
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced delivery driver to be part of a small, flexible team with a company that has been established for over 70 years. Deliveries currently cover the North East, Yorkshire and Glasgow.
The successful applicant should have excellent time management and customer service skills to ensure our customers always have a positive experience and receive the best possible service. You should also be meticulous with ensuring customer orders are fulfilled accurately.
Delivery Driver Responsibilities:
Loading, transporting, and delivering items to customers in a safe, timely manner, adhering to assigned routes
Reviewing orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, the charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied.
Assisting with loading and unloading items from vehicles.
Accepting customer payments for delivered items.
Providing excellent customer service, answering questions/resolving queries where possible or escalating to the Warehouse manager if appropriate.
Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record.
Preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries
Essential Criteria
Full clean UK driving license held for a minimum of 12 months
Previous experience of delivery driving
Physically fit – must be able to lift and carry heavy loads
Must be eligible to work in the UK
Must be flexible with start/finish times
Must be able to provide job references
Bank Holiday working
2 forms of ID required if selected to attend interview
Desirable criteria
Fork lift license and advantage, but not essential
