RINA is looking for an experienced Integrated Logistic Support (ILS / IPS) Consultant or Engineer to join its expanding Space & Defence business unit. The ILS Engineer (Consultant) will provide ILS consultancy to our customers, ensuring equipment is delivered efficiently and to the optimum value, having developed through life support strategies. Working in a niche, though established team, you will deliver end to end ILS initiatives for clients. You will gain experience across a diverse range of projects, working on some of the most modern platforms across Land, Air, Maritime and Space.
This role can be based out of our Chippenham, Lincoln or Leatherhead offices though RINA is smart/hybrid working organisation, so living within commuter distance of the office is not necessarily required. Moderate travel across the UK is required though.
Responsibilities include:
- Deliver ILS and Service Support programmes to ensure ILS requirements are delivered on time, to budget, and to the required quality;
- Perform detailed analytic studies under the direction of the Capability Lead to ensure that the support systems being developed, meet or exceed the specified R&M and supportability requirements, recommending design changes as appropriate;
- Design and implement ILS projects including; AR&M, Supportability Analysis (SA), Through Life Costing, and Codification;
- Development and manage ILS and ILS Element Plans;
- Support bids & proposals;
- Provide reports on productivity and other performance indicators to the Capability Lead;
- Conduct peer reviews of ILS Capability Group’s outputs;
- Assist the ILS Capability Manager with augmenting ILS capability in order to meet new and emerging market demands;
- Develop innovation initiatives to support future growth.
Experience and qualifications:
- You will either have an engineering degree or some commercial experience maintaining vehicles or aircraft;
- An understanding of ILS or IPS for UK Defence Programmes;
- Preferable experience in AR&M Analysis, Supportability Analysis and/or WLC/LCC Analysis;
- Some knowledge of ILS defence standards (including Def Stan 00-600, DLF (JSP886), Def Stan 00-40 series) preferable, but not pre-requisite;
- Working knowledge of ITIL Best Management Practice, preferable;
- Working knowledge of design engineering methods and processes (systems engineering);
- Current valid UK SC clearance (You will either have SC clearance at point of employment, or have British citizenship and be willing to become security cleared)
