Job description
The clinical systems programme at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust will focus on a series of projects to improve care across the patient pathways in the outpatients, inpatient elective, inpatient non-elective and emergency settings. Each pathway will be owned by one of the divisions with project delivery supported by the ICT Clinical Systems Project Team. We are recruiting a substantive project manager to take responsibility for leading a group of projects within the Clinical Systems programme at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Chelsea Westminster NHS Foundation Trust.
As a Project Managers you will have knowledge and experience of clinical and operational practice in NHS Acute Trusts and significant experience of project management with a demonstrably successful track record. You must demonstrate an appreciation and vision as to how clinical and operational practice can be transformed and supported by electronic patient records and clinical systems. The objective of this will be to reduce costs, improve process efficiency and to enhance patient safety and experience.
It is important to be able to understand issues from the user perspective and ensure the deliverables of the project are aligned with the stakeholder needs. Structured, systematic thinking to work to solutions is essential. You must also be able to articulate issues to and communicate with non-technical clinical and operational system users.
The post holder will be responsible for the project management and implementation of elements of the Trust's electronic patient record system in adherence to Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHT) ICT Strategy. Using PRINCE 2 project management methodology and other relevant standards as appropiate, the post holder will mange projects within time, budget, scope tolerances, ensuring congruence and alignment with other projects and service development initiatives. The post holder must at all times ensure consistency with the aims and requirements of internal and external bodies, for example senior clinicians, end users, NHS bodies and user groups, third party suppliers and the Health and Social Care Information Centre
