Job description
We are looking for a brand new team for a brand new business. Hokey Pokey is bringing the Kiwi-inspired real fruit ice cream to the Margate coast. The shop is located in the heart of Margate Old Town, one street back but with a view to the harbour.
The concept: Ourreal fruit ice cream is made to order, using seasonal berries sourced from local farmers and ice cream from sustainable dairies. This is no ordinary ice cream, as fruit and ice cream are blended to create a fresh, healthier and more natural ice cream, served in a swirl. To support this offering we will feature a rotation of real soft serve flavours, seasonal slushies, fresh juices and berries in season to take home.
Come work with us:
We are looking for people who are happy to get stuck in, have a willingness to learn and show genuine interest in our customers and the experience we are offering. We want anyone who walks through the door to feel included and welcome.
On shift, you will be creating and assembling our range of ice cream products and drinks, so a good speed of service without compromising quality is our goal. You will be customer facing and will need the ability to communicate the concept. The role will require a thorough understanding of food safety and allergy awareness and getting busy cleaning will be essential to maintain a clear and safe environment.
We want someone who not only understands and demonstrates our core values, but strives to the high standards in our daily operations.
Range of roles available: You might be needing a weekend job in summer holidays, a part time or full time role. Whilst this will likely be a seasonal job, there may be opportunities within other areas of the business should you be looking longer term. The busiest times will be bank/school holidays and weekends.
