PrepWorld is looking for our next Hygiene Supervisor To lead a team of Hygiene Operatives and Team Leaders, working to a tight schedule to maintain cleanliness of activity of all production areas, Coordinate all hygiene aspects across the site, communicate all instructions clearly and motivate a large team, be visible in the production areas, inspect and promote good hygiene standards, and good manufacturing practice across all departments.
Main Duties:
- Ensure a safe working environment for the employees in the department.
- Ensure the highest food safety and hygiene standards are embedded throughout the team.
- Planning, organising and monitoring the team in order to achieve or exceed the expected performance levels.
- Maintaining excellent communication throughout the department in order to ensure the hygiene plans are adhered.
- Responsible for supporting the engineering function in routine preventative maintenance and cleaning and also the production function in line start up post deep cleaning and maintenance.
- Responsible for ensuring all work conforms to the processes and the Hygiene Management System, Quality Management System and Safety Management System.
- Responsible for ensuring that the required quality, safety, hygiene and environmental standards are implemented, maintained and improved.
- Ensure appropriate standards of housekeeping and hygiene are maintained at all times to minimise risk of product contamination.
- To be aware of all food industry cleaning chemicals their use, mixing strengths and precautions.
- To be able to design, implement hygiene procedures and records, supervise the hygiene team, and efficiently implement cleaning schedules.
- To be able to participate and execute hygiene related risk assessments.
- To design, implement and manage hygiene related Standard Operating Procedures.
- Develop strong working relationships in order to drive continuous improvement in site standards.
- Ensure all scheduled cleans are completed and communicated.
- Monitor effectiveness of cleans in conjunction of labour costs with a view to continuous improvements.
- Work within set budgets.
- Responsible for ensuring effective communication with regards to company hygiene standards across and between shifts within the teams to ensure optimum performance is achieved.
- Responsible for completing the hygiene control sheets/schedules.
- Responsible for training new staff.
- Carry out any reasonable adhoc task as requested by your line manager.
- Monitor the work of Hygiene Operatives whilst performing their tasks.
- Control of site PPE, inventory and issuance.
- Liaise with Purchasing department on inventory and deliveries of site chemicals and PPE.
- The role involves some manual handling and the ability to withstand working in cold storage conditions on a daily basis.
- The role requires an alert disposition, working in the vicinity of forklift and moving machinery.
- Supervision of the Hygiene team, and deputising in the Hygiene Managers absence

- Previous experience of working within a food manufacturing environment.
- Supervisory experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate staff and colleagues
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, whilst maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- A keen eye for detail.
- Good working knowledge of the BRC hygiene regulations and practices.
- A proactive approach to food safety.
- Good knowledge of cleaning chemicals and COSHH.

Pay: £14.65 - £16.25 per hour DOE
Hours: 18:00 - 06:00 (NIGHTS)
Days of work: Sunday to Wednesday
