Applications are invited for two new Human Resources Officer (Reward & Benefits) in the Human Resources Department.

The post holders will work closely with the Deputy Head and Head of HR Operations to provide an innovative and effective reward, benefits, and policy function to help the University in ensuring it can recruit and retain key staff to achieve its operational and strategic objectives. The post holders will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders in the University including different levels of management, employees, trade unions, HR colleagues and external networks and suppliers.

The two role holders will focus on different areas of the function with some overlap i.e., job evaluation policy development, benchmarking and management of market supplements and allowances. The function is responsible for reward processes including benefits such as cycle to work, workplace nursery, performance/recognition awards and academic processes including promotion, probation, and sabbatical. A key part of the new roles will be reviewing, developing, and implementing new processes and offerings to ensure the University is able to attract and retain its staff.

The successful candidates will need to demonstrate strong experience of managing rewards and benefits processes as well as experience of direct experience of policy development and implementation. Experience of job evaluation is needed together with excellent attention to detail and communication skills. Candidates will also need to demonstrate significant direct experience of process redesign together with strong experience of the production and dissemination of management information and evidence of the building strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders to achieve a successful result. Applicants will need to be qualified to at least CIPD level 5.
