The Role
As our HR Manager, you will oversee all aspects of our HR related activities, ensuring the delivery of an effective and comprehensive service.
Managing the HR Team, you’ll oversee administration, recruitment, employee relations, learning and development and organisational interventions for the council.
Developing and supporting your teams, you’ll manage the implementation of appropriate HR support, policies and procedures and ensure project and case work is carried out to the highest possible standards.
You’ll establish a compelling employer brand, delivering digital streamlined recruitment processes to provide the best possible experience for applicants and managers.

You’ll establish a compelling employer brand, delivering digital streamlined recruitment processes to provide the best possible experience for applicants and managers.
Additionally, you will:
- Provide advice and guidance to managers
- Commission learning and development interventions
- Manage service budgets using budget management tools
About You
To be considered as our HR Manager, you will need:
- Experience as a HR Officer
- Experience of handling disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence cases and restructuring and redundancies
- Experience of using a HR and Payroll System
- Experience of developing HR policies, procedures and practices
- Experience of identifying gaps in training and creating learning and development plans
- An up-to-date knowledge of employment law and effective HR Practice
- The ability to manage a team to meet objectives and standards
- A full CIPD qualification
