Job description
This is an exciting and varied role, you will demonstrate your knowledge and experience providing first line support for a number of frontline managers, advising on day to day challenges with full support from the HR Manager. You will do this by being the named contact for a defined area and by supporting the departments HR advice line and inbox. You will provide information reports as required and so you are required to have a good level of IT literacy and able to use the various software packages. You will need to be able to build good relationships with managers and team members.
You will be given opportunities to develop your areas of interest, work with a supportive team and gain excellent HR experience. Opportunities to gain further qualifications is encouraged and funded through the apprenticeship scheme. This is a hybrid working opportunity with occasional visits to Trust sites to attend essential meetings. Interviews will take place week commencing 31st August 2023.
Provide advice and guidance to managers and staff in accordance with trust procedures, legislation and best practice including: Terms and conditions of employment Attendance Management Capability / Performance Disciplinary, Grievance, Bullying & Harassment Agenda for Change Job Evaluation Management Of Change / Service Redesign Other HR Procedure Manage a caseload as delegated by the HR Manager Support investigating officers in disciplinary and grievance investigations, including support at meetings as required and in the preparation and content of investigation reports and cases presented to panels, attending investigatory meetings as required To provide HR advice to Case Conferences taking into account organisational precedent and best practice. Support managers in producing correspondence to staff , ensuring consistency and compliance with best practice and to up to date employment legislation Advise managers on courses of action and possible implications; support managers in deciding the most appropriate course of action, seeking guidance from the HR Manager where issues are complex Maintain up to date knowledge of employment legislation and case law, providing advice and guidance on its application. Advise managers on specific cases and draft general written guidance and advice Provide HR advice / support in the management of absence including supporting managers in the preparation of cases for dismissal, utilising the absence management system to support this To support MOC processes attending consultation meetings and supporting redeployment processes Ensure that appropriate records are maintained in individual cases which conform to legislation and minimise the Employment Tribunal Proceedings Liaise with Medical Education in relation to the management of Doctors in difficulty and escalate complex issues to the HR Manager as required Actively assist in identifying potential risks to the Trust associated with HR and employment matters Assist in assessing the impact of equal opportunity legislation and government initiatives on the organization, updating procedures as directed Involvement in Agenda for Change job evaluation processes, including banding as required and new posts Support Head of HR Operations / HR Manager in providing information and advice to managers on HR performance measures and workforce planning Support Head of HR Operations / HR Manager in tribunal preparation
