Your day to day
A truly career-defining opportunity has arisen for a pro-active, passionate and dedicated HR Specialist to join our Windsor-based Global Human Resources team. This is a pivotal role, giving you a hands-on introduction to the strategic and operational side of HR whilst building excellent business partnering and stakeholder engagement skills.
As the newly appointed HR Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the implementation of Global People initiatives and employment lifecycle for IHG’s Global Corporate Functions (GCF). We have big plans for this role, and with exceptional leadership and freedom to try new things, you will flourish into a leading figure within our Global HR team. You will create an immediate positive impact in this role by utilising your previous educational and end-user experience.
Your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Maintain a consistent, accurate, high-quality customer-focused orientation. Listen to and communicate with internal stakeholders to obtain all required information necessary to determine and address their specific needs
- Provide clear, accurate people data and analysis on time to stakeholders that explains HR procedures and provides relevant solutions, materials or supplemental information
- Provide proactive advice and communication to people managers and HR Team on all generalist HR matters in progress, employment lifecycle and life events; to all additional stakeholders
- Timely delivery of information to support people plans and initiatives including running reporting, people data analysis and insights, summary PowerPoint slides, root cause analysis for issues and presenting solutions to issues raised or escalated
- Support and maintain the execution of the Talent lifecycle, Talent reviews, employee surveys (exit interviews and colleague heartbeat). Escalating any concerns which are identified as a risk to the Business to the relevant leadership team
- Communicate status updates, metrics, trends, and activities for assigned projects, programs or departmental initiatives
- Support continuous development of people managers through excellent communication and feedback with stakeholders
- Create effective people processes to support continuous quality delivery for GCF team and continuously monitor and evaluate people processes to ensure optimal ways of working
- Provide stakeholders with correspondence e.g. offers, contracts and references
What we need from you
You will need to have a relevant Degree, Apprenticeship or equivalent level of generalist HR experience. The cherry on top would be a level 5 CIPD or higher! If you have built up a couple of years of relevant experience we would be looking for you to bring employment lifecycle, recruitment, development, retention and on/off boarding skills.
We need someone who is strong at analysing data and create narrative from insights for others to clearly understand. If you’re good with data then you’ll likely by proficient with HR systems, workforce structures, job families, and reporting from the likes of Oracle or Workday.
Excellent planning, process and organisational skills are a must as well as having a clear and structured approach to your work and being able to prioritise effectively. Finally, being able to work off your own initiative whilst maintaining proactive and effective communication and relationship building is imperative.
