Location: Remote (Visits to the Harwell / Cumbria / Warrington will be expected as and when required)

Nuclear Waste Services brings together the UK’s leading nuclear waste management capabilities.

We have integrated the expertise of Low Level Waste Repository (LLWR), Radioactive Waste Management (RWM), and the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) group’s Integrated Waste Management Programme (IWMP). This creates an organisation focused on the management of the UK’s nuclear waste, safely and securely for generations to come.

We are part of the NDA group, which is undertaking the biggest clean-up project in Europe over many decades. Nuclear Waste Services is integral to this environmental clean-up mission, as we work to provide permanent answers to our country’s nuclear waste. The UK has been producing and managing radioactive waste on an industrial scale since the 1940s. However, today’s approach and capabilities for waste management need to adapt to keep pace with NDA’s decommissioning ambitions. This includes its commitment to recycle 50% of waste from decommissioning and reduce secondary wastes by around 70% by 2030.

The role:

This role will report into the Head of Organisational Effectiveness and support the Senior HRBP’s in the transition of people initiatives across NWS, specifically relating to integrating the two existing businesses LLWR/ RWM. This role will support on delivering a variety of HR activity including; organisation design and development, people change implementation plans, grading, terms & conditions, TUPE and Trade Union consultation/ negotiation.

As a HR Project Manager your main responsibilities would be:

· Develop, implement, embed organisational design for the future integrated NWS TOM using agreed organisational design methodologies/principles

· Work closely with Senior HRBPs to support the embedment of the HRBP model, developing and implementing new ways of working, processes and procedures

· Manage working relationships with Trade Unions, dealing with complex people issues that arise from organisational design change

· Build relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders to tailor people change/ ways of working plans in line with the strategic direction of the business

· Identify people impacts and provide employee relations advice/ guidance to reach the most appropriate solutions via effective analysis of the situation and risk mitigation to protect the business

· Coach and support senior leaders in the principles of managing change to equip them with the required skills to implement and embed their own functional changes

· Work in partnership with all key stakeholders (Comms, Leaders, TU etc) in ensuring they have robust engagement and business readiness plans

· Support the implementation and delivery of the future legal construct and route to a single entity (TUPE)

· Support in the development/ delivery of a new single grading framework

You’ll have relevant experience in:

· Excellent experience, knowledge and understanding of implementation of organisational design/development and strategic HR business partnering

· Highly adept at successfully planning and leading complex projects while managing/ supporting cross functional resources

· Effective coordination and interpersonal skills to collaborate and consult with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders e.g., customers, suppliers, Trade Unions, regulators etc

· Excellent communication and presentation skills to break down complexities and present the information in a precise manner

· ‘Big picture’ perspective on key business drivers and commercial awareness, demonstrating sound business acumen and an ability to challenge the thinking of senior leaders

· Resilience and ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and change

· Flexible and solutions focused, adaptable, with a proven ‘hands-on’ attitude

· Demonstrable experience of operating at a senior professional level and ability to advise and work effectively with senior executives.

· Able to use data, metrics, and evidence to inform and drive decision making and change across their business areas

You will also have these Qualifications/Skills:

· Degree in HRM, Business or related subject, or equivalent experience in Human Resource Management

· Recognised professional membership and qualification (i.e., Chartered Membership of CIPD L7) or equivalent / part qualified / QBE
