At Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel and InterContinental Edinburgh The George Hotel, we have an exciting opening to join our cluster HR team as an HR Manager…
We are looking for someone who can work up to 40 hours per week (working pattern is flexible, 5 out of 7 days across the week), in this cluster role based between our two hotels. You will be working closely and report into our HR Business Partner and will be supervising our two HR Coordinators. We are paying up to £37,000.00 per annum, plus benefits.
This is a very varied role; no two days are the same so this will suit someone who is used to working in a fast-paced HR environment and enjoys working a wide variety of tasks to support the people function!
As an HR manager your main duties and responsibilities will be…
- People: Implementation of our People Plan to create a meaningful colleague lifecycle experience with clear focus on a positive, inclusive, and engaging culture. Collaboration with the Talent Acquisition Team and hiring managers to ensure an efficient and effective attraction and selection process. Owning the on-boarding process ensuring that all colleagues have a great start, and continue to coach, track and advise managers throughout a 90- day starter programme. Supporting managers in identifying colleague talent needs and development opportunities. Advising managers on engagement, performance and retention activities. Working with people managers to utilise early careers strategies and programmes including IHG academy and apprenticeships. Support, coach and advise managers and colleagues on HR queries and directing them to the appropriate channels. Delivering our company induction training day.
- Financial: supporting our HR Business Partner to review department budget and control expense and monitoring staffing to manage costs.
- Responsible Business: building your networks in the local community to promote our Hotels and Brands (and build awareness); ensuring compliance with all relevant employment laws, policies and procedures, conducting annual HR compliance/standards self-audit, researching and investigating workplace issues (identifying risks and escalating serious issues); collecting and reporting HR data (turnover, absenteeism, training needs etc) and other ad-hoc duties as and when required to support our Hotels!
To smash this role out of the park, the key skills & experience you’ll ideally already have are:
- 2 years+ working in a Human Resources Management role or equivalent combination of education and experience, high track record of building relationships and having excellent communication skills.
- College or University qualification in Human Resources, Employment Law or a similar field.
- Experience working in a fast-paced Hospitality background, highly beneficial if you have worked within a Hotel group before and are familiar with the various departments, roles and operations within a Hotel.
