Leading our People Team, we work in collaboration onsite , supporting our operation with expertise and providing efficient guidance on all matters relating to HR.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a seamless adoption of transitional People strategies into business and rollout broader people initiatives.
- Ensure our operation is accurately reporting and performing People KPIS (ex. Attrition, absence, recruitment).
- Build strong relationships and collaboration with our operational teams.
- Utilise expertise HR knowledge as being an escalation point for ER case management, including support to wider regional sites/operations on the contract.
- Lead the people team, including but not limited to; performance objective setting, 121s, development and career conversations.
- Lead and engage on people related projects and initiatives (ex. Wellbeing, Diversity & Inclusion).
- Support your People Manager to embed activities that drive high level of employee engagement, retention and inclusivity, following our ‘Wincanton Way’ values.
- Socialise, coach and engage site teams on People-related SOPs, HR systems, policies and procedures.
- Partner training teams across Wincanton to ensure all colleagues receive a quality programme of induction and ongoing training.
This role is based on-site, Monday to Friday
What will you bring to our team:
We’re looking for you to be proactive, adaptable and resilient with your HR knowledge and experience.
- Proven experience within a fast pace HR function as People/HR management.
- Managing and resolving industrial relations and/or employee relations matter (ex. Exposure to union activity and active involvement in disciplinary, grievance and suspension processes.
- Strong understanding of employment T&Cs and statutory elements.
- Experience in managing employee data through secure portals (Kronos or Oracle Cloud desirable).
- Strong experience in applying functional knowledge and methodologies to resolve challenges and deliver a positive colleague experience.
- Proven improvement mindset and initiatives in line with process and company values.
