Finance Earth are looking to recruit a Human Resources (HR) Manager to help support our growing environmental impact investment advisory and transaction business. The Role

Finance Earth are looking to recruit a Human Resources (HR) Manager to help support our rapidly growing team. This will be a critical role in a period of rapid growth for the Company, with the current team of c. 35 expected to grow to more than 50 people within the next 18 months.

This wide ranging, people focussed role will require the HR Manager to cover all core HR departmental areas including payroll, employee relations, HR admin, learning and development, recruitment, employee engagement, and maintaining and improving HR systems.

The HR manager will be expected to:

  • Work with Directors to develop, implement and sustain an overall People Strategy and the organisational structure to support future growth, based on best practice
  • Lead on all recruitment and selection processes including developing systems/ processes to coordinate feedback and enable objective decision making
  • Prepare ancillary HR documentation (offer letters, employment contracts, contract amendment letters etc)
  • Coordinate the necessary people due diligence requirements (background checks, reference checks, etc.)
  • Ensure the onboarding process is handled in a professional manner to expedite the settling in period
  • Manage the company’s employee programmes, staff benefits and packages, including an annual review of remuneration and benefits
  • Identify HR trends so that attention can be directed to key issues and resources
  • Manage and improve the performance review process to deliver continuous employee development
  • Manage and train staff on HR issues, including training for line managers
  • Make sure that company values and approach are utilised to strengthen the organisational culture
  • Ensure the values of diversity, equality, and inclusion values are incorporated across related HR documentation
  • Provide advice and direction where needed to the senior team on current regulation compliance, including accepted professional standards, policies and procedures and legislation (including legislation on data protection, the Equality Act and health and safety)
  • Ensuring that the company’s policies and procedures comply with such employment regulation, creating new ones as needed and managing the implementation of the same
  • Handling employee relation matters, including disciplinary processes and grievances
  • Process Payroll monthly and keep payroll provider up to date on new joiners and leavers, salary changes, leaves of absence etc

Skills and experience

You will have at least 4 or more years’ experience working as an HR professional within a dynamic and growing business environment, handling multiple tasks and deadlines and proven track record of growing and managing a team.

Essential capabilities:

  • Excellent understanding and technical abilities within all HR departmental areas including recruitment, employee relations, workforce administration, employee engagement, payroll, reward and recognition, welfare, learning and development and HR systems
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of regulations, accepted professional standards, policies and procedures and legislation (including legislation on data protection, the Equality Act and health and safety)
  • A confident leader with experience in leading the HR function
  • Strategic thinking abilities and demonstrable commercial acumen
  • Strong organisational skills, including ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including clear communication
  • Proactive, agile work ethic focused on problem-solving
  • Leading with integrity, an inspiring role model and encouraging collaboration
  • Thorough and methodical attention to detail
  • Discretion and tact

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualifications) in Human Resources Management, Psychology, or a business-related subject
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a HR role of which minimum 1 years’ experience in a management role
  • Fluent level of English, both spoken and written
  • Strong IT skills, proficient in Microsoft Office

Opportunity to earn £50,000 to >£60,000 (depending on experience)

  • Base salary of between £45,000 and £55,000 per annum depending on experience
  • Up to 10% of salary Annual Discretionary Bonus
  • Discretionary Christmas bonus of up to £1,000 and Christmas Gifts
  • 25 days annual holiday allowance plus English Bank Holidays
  • 2-3 days additional holiday free at Christmas (for Office Closure)
