At Barchester we are on a digital transformation journey and have an exciting new opportunity for an HR Graduate within our People Services HR Team. Barchester Healthcare are a market leading care home provider with over 240 care homes and six independent hospitals across England, Scotland and Wales. With a successful new builds programme over the next 3 years we are rapidly and successfully expanding.


To be successful in this role, you will be a natural communicator with a passion for working with people and people data. Initially this role will be for a period of 12 months with a focus on HR data, reporting and supporting critical HR change projects. Reporting to the People Services Director you will work alongside other members of the People Services team, wider HR team and other key stakeholders across the business.


We are looking for a self-starter who is energetic and full of new ideas. You must be flexible in your approach and willing to travel to our Inverness office. This is a great opportunity for someone who is keen to have a career in HR, brings lots of fresh ideas and understands how people data can drive business decisions.


Here’s some of the activities you can expect to be involved in;


  • Analysing our people data and current reporting
  • Creation and ownership of a standardised suite of reporting
  • Visualisation and storytelling of our people data
  • Significant work on Excel / SmartSheets
  • Support with various HR change projects including a new HRIS system
  • Cleansing our current data, storage and supporting an electronic employee files solution
Key Skills and Experience
  • Educated in Human Resources to degree level or equivalent
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages / SmartSheets (preferred)
  • Genuine interest and understanding of People Operations and HR Data with the ability to interpret and analyse this
  • Flexible in your approach with the ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Great collaborator that can also work on own initiative
  • Excellent written and communication skills
