LOCATION: Remote / home-based
CONTRACT TYPE: Contracted services (self-employed)
SALARY: Payment will be based on a rate per hour and/or per assignment (reasonable travel and expenses paid in addition to agreed rate).
ROLE SUMMARY: Open Awards is recruiting for experienced individuals to join our bank of assessment experts to support the development and maintenance of vocational assessments.
The key functions of the role include:
- Work with and manage subject experts to develop assessment content and associated materials to meet the relevant assessment strategy and Open Awards qualification and assessment specification requirements.
- Work with and manage subject experts to maintain assessment content (e.g., question papers/tasks and mark schemes) and associated materials to ensure they continue to meet the relevant assessment strategy and Open Awards qualification and assessment specification requirements.
- Attend and contribute to relevant meetings - either in-person at OA Head Office in Speke or remotely via teleconference facilities.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience of writing and reviewing vocational assessments (including mark schemes/ guidance) for an awarding organisation.
- Experience of interpreting assessment strategies and regulatory guidance.
- Familiarisation with apprenticeship standards and regulated qualifications. Delivery of vocational assessments an advantage.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work accurately and consistently, and to tight timescales.
- Ability to utilise IT software applications, including Microsoft Office and email. Knowledge and use of assessment platforms an advantage.
- In addition, you are required to have access to a PC/laptop with a reliable and secure internet connection, for the purposes of the role.
