This role is based at our Nashville location.
Specific duties may include:
- Coach and develop the distribution center leadership team on employee relations, talent development, and performance management.
- Serves as the link between team members, operations, payroll, and corporate People & Culture team by answering questions and interpreting and administering company policies.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to manage staffing requirements including the recruitment, selection, and promotion process for all hourly and salaried openings; acts as a point of contact for temporary staffing agencies; assists Talent Acquisition in building relationships with local colleges, chamber of commerce, or other resources in the area to attract talent.
- In conjunction with the People Resource Hub, manage leaves of absence (FMLA/short-term disability), conduct new hire orientations, and assist employees with all aspects of benefit administration, including open enrollment.
- Handles employee relations issues (work complaints, harassment allegations, other employee concerns, etc.) in accordance with company standards and applicable laws.
- Administer the local compensation program in accordance with company practices.
- Administer the workers’ compensation program, including investigating injuries, first aid, and near misses; assist in organizing and running the annual safety training.
- Assist with companywide People & Culture initiatives like compensation, Coaching for Success (annual performance management process), employee engagement, and learning and development.
- Assists in specific learning and development needs for the distribution centers; aids in developing a plan and implementing learning programs that align with best practices, business strategies/needs, and company values in collaboration with the Senior Manager of People and Culture.
- In conjunction with Payroll, assist in ensuring accurate information for payroll and timekeeping so all team members are paid accurately. Assists in providing training to managers and supervisors to utilize HRIS (including Kronos and Workday)
- Assist the DC Leadership team and Sr. Manager of People and Culture in the site-specific Engagement Strategy.
- Other duties as assigned.
This role requires a minimum of 3 years of experience strong experience in Human Resources in a manufacturing or distribution setting. A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related area is preferred.
Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred.- Ability to act with limited guidance and solve practical problems; exercises good judgment and solid decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to express ideas, problems, and solutions with clarity.
- Knowledge of HRIS and timekeeping systems (Workday, Kronos, etc.)
- Ability to build trust with employees; builds relationships throughout the organization at all levels.
- Objectively coach leaders and team members through complex, difficult, and sensitive issues.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and make recommendations that effectively resolve problems by using judgment that is consistent with policies, standards, and state/federal regulations.
- Effective project management skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities with ease and composure while continuing to meet deadlines.
- Articulates the appropriate responses to employee questions and issues using empathy and credibility; Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal appropriately with sensitive issues.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to travel by automobile between locations as needed.
