Job Scope
A HR Generalist is expected to be a conceptual thinker with fantastic organizational and conflict management skills. You will have excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask and adapt to ever changing environment. To ensure success, HR Generalists should exhibit strong decision-making skills with a deep understanding of employee relationships, staffing management and training. Top candidates will be comfortable managing grey areas, effective at scheduling and methodical in the recruitment process.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work in conjunction with Paychex, MSI TEC's PEO service on HR matters and payroll processing.
- Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form.
- Respond to human resources-related inquiries.
- Provide personnel policy and procedure guidance to employees and management.
- First point-of contact with third party PPO provider/other third-party HR support and MSI TEC.
- Coordinate open enrollments, changes, and training for employee benefits programs.
- Organize employee performance reviews.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements.
- Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes.
- Administer employee on-boarding and orientation.
- Develop and maintain talent management processes.
- Monitor employee morale and company culture.
- Collaborate with the -Executive Leadership Team to develop effective recruitment strategies and future staffing needs.
- Undertake tasks around performance management.
- Process complaints regarding sexual harassment, discrimination, or other instances of workplace harassment and assist in any necessary investigations and disciplinary actions.
- Conduct exit interviews and recommend corrective action if necessary.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related (essential).
- 2 years of experience as an HR Coordinator (essential).
- Good understanding of Labor Law and employment equity regulations.
- Excellent record-keeping skills.
- Good knowledge of HR functions and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Superb computer literacy with capability in email, MS Office and related HR software
