  • Undertaking MRI and CT scans in line with existing modality specific clinical guidelines and protocols (MHRA Guidance 2007, IR(ME)R 2000, Code of Clinical Practice)
  • Conducting competency assessments at regular intervals, ensuring any development needs are identified and followed up
  • Being actively involved in the recruitment, appointment and induction of new clinical staff
  • Arranging rotas for clinical staff where required
  • Ensuring good communication is maintained with the team to deliver a smooth-running service
  • Dealing with day to day staff queries, liaising with appropriate support functions where required to resolve the queries within a reasonable timeframe
  • Staff appraisals and 121’s
  • Taking ownership of governance activities i.e. audits, personal development, and team meetings with the support of your colleagues.
  • Supporting / covering Operation manager duties as required
  • Supporting the administrative team

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A BSc in diagnostic radiography or equivalent
  • A valid professional membership (HCPC registration)
  • The ability to supervise a team of radiographers when necessary
  • Confidence when coaching and developing team members via training techniques
  • The ability to motivate and lead, with a desire to exceed expectations
  • An outstanding understanding of radiography physics and different scanning techniques and sequences
  • Competency at performing routine and complex examinations with and without contrast medium
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to organise effectively and prioritise workloads
  • Understanding of the implications of the Data Protection Act and Caldicott Principles
  • Excellent health and safety awareness when utilising imaging equipment
  • A calm approach in challenging situations and works well under pressure
  • A professional and cooperative attitude towards patients, customers and colleagues.

You should apply if you have experience:

  • Of undertaking basic and complex MRI and CT procedures (we appreciate you may be more specialised in one modality)
  • Management and Development of Radiography teams
