The Role:
The Senior People and Culture Generalist will partner with leaders and key stakeholders to create and implement business-aligned strategies. This position will cultivate strong candidate and ambassador relationships and proactively serve the LVCVA in recruitment, training and development, ambassador relations, policy administration, and talent retention.
What You’ll Do:

Service: Provide excellent service to all internal and external customers and serve as a primary contact for assistance with questions and problem resolution in all areas of responsibility. Serve as a resource for ambassadors, supervisors, and managers on policy and procedures.- Onboarding: Lead the pre-employment and onboarding functions, including criminal background checks, drug and physical screening, and reference check processes. Maintain systems and audit processes for efficiency and data integrity.
- Training: Facilitate New Hire Orientation and various standard training programs using engaging visual aids. Implement training program schedules, enroll participants, track attendance and training records, and monitor and report program effectiveness through solicited feedback. Update training materials and coordinate outsourced training as needed.
- Ambassador Relations: Perform ambassador and labor relations functions for assigned areas, including performance management, investigations, coaching and disciplinary procedures. Communicate outcomes and follow up on action items promptly.
- Projects: Serve as a project lead. Arrange meetings with appropriate parties, track progress, and measure the performance of all assigned projects.
What We’re Looking For
High School Diploma is required; a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business or Public Administration, or a closely related field is preferred- Five (5) years of human resources generalist or supervisory experience is preferred
- Demonstrated experience in multiple human resources disciplines is required (a combination of related education, training, and experience may be considered)
- Human Resources Professional Certification is preferred through either the Society for Human Resources Management, the Human Resources Certification Institute, or the International Public Management Association
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
- Prior experience with labor contracts is desirable
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Prior experience and knowledge of Human Resource Info Systems (HRIS) and talent management systems
- Analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from diverse groups, i.e., managers, ambassadors, and customers
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including comprehension and effective listening
- Must be able to support and respect the various cultural and ethnic values, behaviors, beliefs, and attitudes of a diverse workplace Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality
- Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
