Building Maintenance Services (“BMS”), a subsidiary of Vornado, is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator for the Paramus, NJ location. The Coordinator primarily provides a range of support to employees and handles the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of Human Resources, Payroll and Benefits. This includes support for any area of Human Resources including administering and interpreting HR policies and procedures, benefits, compliance, and working with the team members on various projects and initiatives.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the team with all internal and external compliance filings and initiatives.
- Organize and process all departmental invoices.
- Audit, correlate and distribute various reports to appropriate departments and recommend corrective action.
- Keep current with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Organize and prioritize workload and keep the team aware of any competing deadlines or overflow requests.
- Weekly comparison of our payroll and benefits
- Assist payroll department in gathering and providing relevant employee information.
- Ensure all union annual compliance requirements for payroll and benefits are executed.
- Assist in entering and processing all personnel records in ADP as well as run E-Verify and background screening.
- Assist the AVP of HR in other duties and/or projects as needed.
Job Qualifications:
- 2+ years working in a Corporate HR Department preferred.
- Will consider a recent college graduate with some experience in Corporate HR, or an HR internship, and a strong desire to work in Human Resources.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal, organization and writing skills with attention to detail.
- Experience working with an HRIS systems and confidential electronic filing (ADP or UKG preferred)
- Excellent PC skills (MS Office –Excel, Power Point, Forms required)
- Must be willing to take initiative, prioritize and multi-task while still exhibiting good judgment in a fast paced environment.
