GENERAL DUTIES
Provides information and services to the College community to support the Human Resources function.
- Prepares and executes various personnel transactions involving employee recordkeeping, processing of new hires, pay administration, and recruiting
- Maintains an understanding of policies, procedures, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements relevant to human resources
- Organizes and processes employee information; develops and maintains reports and queries; assures data accuracy and completeness
- Responds to requests for information; troubleshoots issues, follows up and responds to employee inquiries
- Assists HR managers with employee communications of all kinds; may prepare materials, conduct orientation sessions, or update web pages
- Performs related duties as assigned.

Medgar Evers College (MEC), a nationally recognized leader in urban-serving education, is one of twenty-five colleges within the dynamic City University New York (CUNY) System. Named for the late civil rights leader, Medgar Wiley Evers (1925-1963), the College's mission is to develop and maintain high quality, professional, career-oriented undergraduate degree programs in the context of liberal education.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Operations, the HR Coordinator will perform functions related to employment, on-boarding, workload and payroll actions for part-time teaching and non-teaching instructional staff in accordance with contractual guidelines.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the responsibilities of the position will include but not be limited to the following:
- Provides administrative support to the Associate Director of Operations and coordinates operations and functions related to Adjunct Services
- Assists in data entry, review and audit of new hires, terminations, wage and salary adjustments, and other personnel changes for Teaching/Non-Teaching Instructional Staff.
- Reviews and prepares completed personnel files for appropriate actions.
- Provides customer service and information for all Adjunct employees and staff.
- Provides Payroll with reporting and new hire documentation, i.e. appointment forms, tax forms, direct deposit application.
- Monitors I-9 Employment Verification for resident and non-resident teaching faculty.
- Process time sheets for non-teaching instructional staff
- Assists with planning and coordinating various HR training programs, events, and orientations for new Adjuncts.
- Monitors the collection of required on-boarding documents for New Adjunct faculty in compliance with laws, policies and practices.
- Acts as liaison with Academic departments, Academic Affairs, Payroll and IT for coordination of work assignments and related services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree required.
COMPENSATION
Salary commensurate with education and experience.
$44,411-$60,394
