Our Organisation

The Football Association [The FA] is the not-for-profit governing body of football in England. It is responsible for promoting and developing every level of the game, from grassroots through to the professional game, and generates significant revenue to support investment into English football each year.
The FA oversees England international teams across men's, women's, youth and disability football, as well as running the National League System and FA Competitions including the Emirates FA Cup, Barclays FA Women's Super League, FA Women's Championship, and Vitality Women's FA Cup, and the world-class facilities of Wembley Stadium and St. George's Park, all with a purpose to Unite the Game and Inspire the Nation.

The Role

The role is to provide generalist HR Business Partner support to dedicated business stakeholders, developing and delivering a range of high quality and pragmatic HR solutions.
The remit includes specific project activity. It will manage the people implications of creating and building a new company which will be responsible for leading the delivery of the Barclays Women's Super League and Barclays Women's Championship.

The role is offered on a 12 month FTC basis.

Key Accountabilities

  • Operate as a valued business partner for all allocated divisions providing effective support, solutions and coaching to the relevant leadership teams.
  • Provide specialist input across a range of HR issues (generalist/specific expertise) to design and deliver solutions that meet the needs of the business.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand and deliver strategic and operational solutions to support business plans.
  • Use broad project management experience to manage the people implications of creating and building a new company. Agree with project sponsors and senior stakeholders the objectives, benefits and appropriate delivery approach to manage the people impact.
  • Coach and develop the relevant senior leadership teams to anticipate and pre-empt people organisational issues.
  • Ability to analyse and think through complex challenges, deliver appropriate solutions and understand the strategic HR agenda. Continually look for and implement best practice/changes that add value.
  • Work in partnership with the business and broader HR team to ensure the delivery of various projects in line with the overall HR business plan.
  • Lead on core HR processes with allocated business areas e.g., performance and salary reviews, talent processes etc.
  • Keep up to date with external trends and best practice in the areas of expertise and HR more broadly.
  • Execute additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.

What we are looking for

  • Proven experience within commercial HR business partnering role
  • Ability to develop strong and effective working relationships
  • Experience of leading on restructuring activities (consultation, redundancy).
  • Thorough knowledge of HR policies, core processes and employment law
  • Track record in delivering value adding HR advice and solutions
  • Knowledge and exposure to IR35 regulations would be an advantage

Please be aware that unless you are on a homebased contract, your contract with The FA will specify a fixed location of either Wembley Stadium, St. George's Park or our Processing Centre.
We currently work within a hybrid working model whereby the expectation is to work from your contractual location for part of the week, and as and when required by the team. The remaining days can be worked remotely. We will continue to monitor this model and it may be adjusted in future if deemed necessary.
