The Opportunity
The HR Business Partner - Engineering & Technology can be based at our Bristol-based GTC or Filton sites or in Papendrecht (The Netherlands) sites in this global functions role supporting our Civil business line. The incumbent will have flexibility to work from home for up to 2 days per week dependent on the needs of the business and flexibility for regular travel to Bristol and quarterly travel to The Netherlands (if based in the UK) to attend site visits is required. The HR Business Partner - Engineering & Technology will report to the HR Director of Civil Programmes whilst partnering the Civil Engineering Leadership Team. As part of the business line HR team, you will be responsible for developing the people strategy for the Global E&T organization (circa 600 employees) whilst supporting the HR Director with the implementation of group wide HR projects and initiatives as and when required including talent management, capability requirements, coordinating engagement activities for the function, leadership and development strategies and deploying appropriate reward and recognition processes. This is a unique opportunity to be the global business partner in a truly strategic capacity.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide professional HR business partnering to the organization
- Identify and address the resource and capability requirements of the business by leading the OPP process for assigned talent within the organization
- Collaborate with site aligned HRBPs and HR CoE to manage the full employment life cycle for employees based in global functions and business lines
- Deliver HR projects for the Civil Engineering business line coordinating aligned site activities with site HR teams
- Support the implementation of GKN Aerospace wide HR projects and initiatives as and when required
- Validate, develop and mobilize talent pools within the business
- Co-ordinate employee engagement activities across the Civil Engineering business line
- Work with CoE and business leaders in managing internal and external recruitment process
- Ensure diversity of experience to meet business needs by planning assignments as part of talent planning process and recruitment
- Develop professional functions to deliver the business strategy
- Develop exceptional leaders by deploying leadership processes, programmes and frameworks
- Ensure all employees are successful in their roles by managing L&D processes, programmes and frameworks in co-ordination with Talent CoE
- Ensure people are aligned, engaged and performing to the highest standards through PDP
- Deploy reward and recognition processes fairly and consistently to drive performance, attract and retain talent
- Be in tune with the employee population to understand what makes a GP2W
- Be a voice of the employee population on decisions regarding GP2W
- Enable cross boundary working and transfer of information
- Ensure flawless transactional service through HR administration processes and teams

Essential:
- Significant experience gained from a HR generalist role
- Experience of delivering strategic HR projects
- Experience of succession and talent management
- Experience of managing and delivering employee engagement initiatives
- Experience of developing leadership teams to Director level
- Competency with Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
Desirable:
- Level 5 CIPD qualified
- HR experience gained from an engineering environment
- Experience gained from within a global organisation
