The Cheese Bar is a small hospitality group dedicated to celebrating the best in British Cheese, working alongside producers from around the UK to create exciting, seasonal, cheese-centric menus in our 3 restaurants - The Cheese Bar in Camden, The Cheese Barge in Paddington and Pick & Cheese in Seven Dials Market as well as our cheese & bottle shop - Funk - on Columbia Road.
We are hiring a part-time HR and Office Co-Ordinator to join our small head office team in Fitzrovia to work alongside the Director and Head of Operations to oversee the efficient day to day running of the HR side of the business and offer advice and guidance to the site managers and staff. The role is suited to someone proactive with excellent organisational and communication skills. The role will initially be 15-20 hours per week, with the potential to develop into a full time capacity as the business grows.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our office and all HR administration tasks including:
- Responding to HR and admin queries, ensuring all queries are dealt with correctly and efficiently
- Managing HR processes including absence management, grievance and disciplinary procedures alongside managers and the Head of Operations
- Helping to coordinate payroll documents and managing rate of pay changes
- Maintaining HR policies, procedures, manuals, folders, induction, and training documentation are up to date and in line with current legislation
- Supporting the company’s recruitment process, including but not limited to: preparing, editing, and proofreading job descriptions, placing job advertisements, checking references and preparing offer letters/contracts of employment/tronc letters for successful candidates
- Processing new starters and leavers, maintaining all personnel file administration. Ensuring all HR folders and relevant platforms are up to date
- Ensuring all new starters have an adequate Health and Safety induction
- Organising ‘Company Induction’ for new staff members
- Ensuring effective upkeep of the office; including monitoring and ordering supplies
The ideal person for this job will:
- Have previous HR administrative experience - ideally within a hospitality background
- Hold a CIPD qualification, other relevant HR qualification and/or have previous relevant HR experience
- Be a fast learner, with the ability to effectively manage priorities, organise a challenging workload and who thrives in a fast-paced working environment
- Have a desire to progress, develop and have an impact on a growing business
- Adopt a collaborative approach with a strong sense of teamwork and an adaptable personality
- Possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills and with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the business
- Maintain a high level of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Have experience of using spreadsheets, databases, and other IT systems
