This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a people background to broaden their skills.
Either you’ve worked in Learning and Development and would like to develop into a formal HR role, building your experience by coaching managers, running recruitment campaigns, and managing a range of employee relations casework.
Or you’re a generalist who wants to gain specialised skills by delivering and evaluating training courses, and using insights, exploration and data to inform Parkinson’s UK’s People L&D Strategy.
About the role
You’ll support the L&D Specialist with implementing the L&D aspects of our People Strategy, including exploring learning needs, creating content, running training sessions, and communicating our learning pathways.
You’ll provide high quality specialist advice, assisting managers on a variety of HR functions including employee relations, recruitment and retention, performance and absence management. You’ll provide coaching, support and data to managers, enabling them to effectively lead and develop their teams.
What you’ll do:
Design and develop core programmes and initiatives to further improve skills across the charity.
Develop and deliver training courses, e-learning, workshops etc as necessary and evaluate their effectiveness.
Provide HR advice and support to managers on matters such as recruitment, absence and health issues, maternity, flexible working, conduct and capability, and a broad range of employee relations matters
Develop and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with employees, line managers, HR suppliers and other third parties
What you’ll bring:
Proven experience of effectively developing and delivering learning to staff both in person and virtually
Current experience of coaching mentoring and line managers to reach desired outcomes
An understanding of HR systems, reporting, data and metrics and how to use them effectively
Experience of using insights and data, alongside organisational strategy, to inform an organisation’s learning and development strategy
Proven success in evaluation and reporting of learning activity

As well as flexible working hours, this role is offered on a flexible contract giving you the opportunity to also work from home twice a week as a maximum. You’ll be required to cover your own travel expenses to the office.
