Job Summary:
Position Summary
We are looking for an HR Advisor who reflects the innovative spirit, creative talent, production
excellence, collaborative mindset and passion for great filmmaking that define ILM. The HR Advisor works with the HR Team and supports the studio by providing comprehensive immigration and visa application support service to our relative studio population, critical in ensuring Visa migrants maintain legal status to work in the UK whilst employed by ILM. In addition this role will be responsible for the administration, management and application of other key disciplines for the
studio including Global Mobility; Employee Benefits; New Hire Onboarding and Induction. The ideal candidate will be client-focused, proactive, collaborative, and emphasise communication and efficiency to execute in this highly detail-oriented role. They also support the studio’s overall people and business agenda by undertaking specific HR projects as required.
What you’ll do
- Manage the Visa application process, alongside immigration partners, ensuring processes and procedures comply with stringent Home Office rules and regulations, recommending changes as necessary.
- Track submission deadlines and coordinate with employees regarding Visa applications, updating our tracking system and communications as needed.
- With legal support where appropriate, determine the best pathway for application given candidate profile, job role, wage, and time available (to start date, expiry of current document, dependent needs).
- Act as first point of contact for all transfer and international assignee or new hires situations following offer/deal brokered organising visas, engaging Global Mobility as required.
- Assist international new hires and transfers in terms of relocation and general advice and support, e.g. bank accounts, HMRC advice, registering with a doctor etc., when they arrive at the studio.
- In collaboration with HR Coordinator/s, undertake day to day HR Operations outside of GHRO, including payroll process, contracts, orientation, onboarding and offboarding.
- Assist in the processing of the HR life cycle programs such as outside work requests, merit planning, performance, promotions and out of cycle request
- Responsible for HR projects as required.
- Advise employees on ILM’s maternity/paternity/shared parental/adoption leave process and procedure and track all information providing reports as necessary
- Manage benefits processes and tracking members as required whilst liaising with Finance and third party providers, ensuring accuracy of contributions
- Assists with the monthly payroll process ensuring the tracker is completed fully with ALL relevant employee changes for that month relating to benefits and other leave, including parental leave
- Oversee HR Coordinator/s with processing the benefits administration
- Assist Disney Comp and Bens team with Management level benefits
- In collaboration with the HR Coordinator/s, manage and field queries coming into the HR
- Enquiries inbox, escalating to HRBPs as required
- Proactively keep up to date on employment law changes, flagging highlights as required.
What we’re looking for
- Demonstrable HR experience within a fast paced creative or media industry delivering a high level of service.
- CIPD Level 5+ Human Resources Management.
- Demonstrates a positive and ‘can do’ attitude to work, always embracing tasks with an enthusiasm drive to get things done.
- Able to build a strong rapport with employees and colleagues at all levels and build strong, trusted relationships.
- Strong organisational, motivational, and problem solving skills.

- Experience of working within a Global matrixed organisation beneficial.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to quickly interpret data, identify trends, and recommend multiple solutions.
- Advanced use of MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint
- Experience with Google products (Gmail, Calendar, Sheets, Forms)
- Experience of Mac beneficial
- Knowledge of HR databases including SAP and Workday would be advantageous
