About the Role
The PMO Lead provides specialist programme and project delivery expertise to our internal and external, international and UK located projects, developing the agreed Project Management Institute (PMI) project management methodology, best practice and processes, and driving the adoption of the framework across internal/external projects. Operating within a supportive and controlling project PMO structure.
What you’ll be doing:
Developing the agreed Project Management Methodology
Developing best practice and agreed standardised processes, tools, templates and ways of working
Driving adoption of our Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Delivery framework and project management methodology across internal and external projects
Developing the agreed Project Management Methodology
Maintaining and tracking project methodology
Training, coaching and mentoring through a Project Management Academy
Chairing and Facilitating Lessons learned
Support change roll out
Adoption of frameworks/methodologies
Ensuring compliance/conformance to governance (Audit & Measure)
Ensuring quality of and compliance to our project management frameworks
Monitoring the delivery of programme-level deliverables and activities against plans, challenging progress as appropriate
Assessing/evaluating information received from projects within the programme
Maintaining multiple programme views for different audiences
Compiling ad-hoc reports as required for programme management (i.e. reporting required for wider company governance forums)
Creating, maintaining and reporting on integrated project programmes across complex large scale projects
Regular project analysis, data and portfolio reporting
Managing dependencies and conflicts
Managing appropriate tracking control
Enforcing a structured approach to project delivery within the team to realise synergies and efficiencies where possible.
About You
Strong Analytical skills
Competent with MS Excel, Excellent numeric, analytical and Excel skills
Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
Management of multiple stakeholders at any one time to support the multi faceted nature of the role
Confidence to influence, challenge and change mindsets
Experience in working in a project management role and office, including relevant qualifications
Experience of working in a PMO, central planning function or governance function
Experience in designing and development of enterprise end-to-end planning and governance processes and standards
Experienced in all stages of the project lifecycle, e.g. planning, requirements gathering, design documentation, testing and rollout
Expertise in using defined programme and project delivery processes consistently over time
Flexible approach to changing priorities
Ability to travel & site visits when required.
