Role: HR Advisor
Location: Birmingham Business Park – Hybrid Working
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday - 9:00am – 5:30pm
Reporting to: Head of HR

Our unique Client management model connects building owners (Clients) with occupiers (Customers) to generate cash from underutilised office space in all types of buildings from Aberdeen to Brighton. NewFlex is creating a positive alternative in the business centre market.

What will you do?
The HR Advisor will provide practical advice and support to managers throughout the business on a range of HR matters across the employee lifecycle delivering excellent service standards to both internal and external stakeholders.
We want someone exceptional who can focus on:
Employee Relations
Support line managers with advice and guidance on a variety of employee relations issues including absence management, performance management and capability matters and disciplinary & grievance matters, ensuring that advice complies with legislation
Guide and support line managers on how to conduct meetings, including advice on meeting preparation and structure
Support with flexible working, maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental leave cases ensuring consistency with policy and process is applied
Support with change management and restructuring programmes
Support with TUPE cases
Recruitment
Post job adverts through all available channels i.e. My NewFlex, careers page and advertising boards
Support with recruitment and interviews as and when required
Prepare offer letters and contracts of employment for successful candidates
Complete all new starter reference requests
Prepare and report recruiting metrics periodically (e.g. time and cost per hire)
Work with approved suppliers to ensure all mandatory documents are completed in line with NewFlex policies
Conduct bench marking exercises to ensure NewFlex are paying salaries in line with market rate
To ensure that NewFlex recruits in line with employment legislation
To be prudent on the recruitment spend by making commercial and cost-effective decisions
Coordinate and manage new employee inductions and ensure a standard agenda is in place to drive consistency of information
Coordinate the probationary review process with managers to ensure employees receive confirmation of successful completion of probation or probation periods are extended/employment terminated where concerns arise
Payroll
Support with processing monthly payroll, ensuring that all deadlines and timelines are adhered to
Collate and administer payroll information from all relevant areas of the business
Maintain Cintra with all personnel changes and updates to working patterns and pay
Provide up to date starter and leaver information to relevant areas of the business
Ensure overtime timesheet entries are accurate and support managers with manual changes where necessary
Calculate statutory calculations such as maternity and sick pay etc
Resolve payroll queries from start to end
Good understanding of pensions
Work with the Head of HR on payroll associated projects
Policy Reviews
Responsible for the review and development of HR policies and processes in order to develop and continuously improve HR best practice. Policies to be regularly reviewed by the review dates to ensure they are updated in line with operational or legislative changes
Training
Ensure all mandatory training modules are sent to new starters and that annual refreshers are sent to all employees
Arrange and book external Health and Safety training courses
Other
Maintenance of employee files
Ensure employee records are kept up to date
Draft emails and letters as and when required
Conduct regular proof of right to work audits
Review HR template documents annually
Deputise for the Head of HR when out of the business
Ad hoc duties in line with the needs and demands of the business
Knowledge/Experience
- Confident user of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Minimum 2 years working in a HR Advisor role
- Good employee relations experience with examples of support across, absence management, performance management, change management, disciplinaries and grievances
- Up to date knowledge across generalist HR content, understanding latest trends and techniques
- Minimum Grade C in English and Maths (or equivalent)
- CIPD Level 5
