About the role
To deliver a responsive HR advisory service to people managers and employees through quality HR guidance and advisory support to resolve people and employment matters. This role works as part of a small and friendly People Services team, with a focus on UK & Europe based teams for our Tricare Overseas Programme (TOP) client group. Some ad-hoc/occasional support may be requested for the Government Services business line (with support).
Key responsibilities
- Liaise with in-house recruiters/external agencies, providing some support with job requisitions, advertising, candidate screening/interviews and providing candidate offers for the People Services team to issue contracts and pre-employment screening checks.
- Capability to provide proactive and practical advice and guidance across a wide range of employee relations matters and HR procedural practices, e.g., induction, probation, performance, contract variations, reward, fact-finds/investigations, conflict/mediations, discipline/grievance hearings and termination procedures.
- Enhance the IntlSOS new colleague welcome experience, including some delivery of induction/onboarding presentations and follow-up evaluation checks with new hires.
- Support the operational delivery of annual/core HR cycles and practices e.g., annual performance, development, career and C&B reviews, compliance training, engagement surveys, wellbeing, and DEI initiatives.
- Update monthly payroll changes/actions and internal validation/QA with HRD before final submission are posted via payroll systems and supporting the administration and delivery of the annual C&B review cycle to client groups.
- Prepare, analyse, and report basic HR & People analytics trends (headcount, location, recruitment, attrition etc) by month, quarter and annual, in collaboration with other HR colleagues and global Centre of Expertise partners.
- Contribute to planning and implementation of a range of UK, European and global HR and organisation development/design projects. This may involve some occasional travel to EU country operations to support new start-ups and/or scaling up/down of existing operations.
- Ensure timely and relevant communications are disseminated to people managers/employees via newsletters, through digital channels and via face-to-face interactions/fora.
- Attend and actively contribute to HR team meetings to solve problems and propose solutions for continuous improvements of HR/People Service practices.
About you
- Previous HR experience, ideally gained in a large, matrixed, multicultural organisation.
- CIPD part-qualified certification is preferred but not essential
- Foundational knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations practices, with the ability to interpret and apply policy and people practices, advising on and manage the employment contract relationships, converting these into accurate and practical advice/guidance/insights, in both verbal and written formats. HR operations/advisory service delivery across other EU countries/geographies is very advantageous, but not essential.
- Excellent business stakeholder relationship management (up to senior manager level) with the ability to communicate clearly and articulately e.g., listening, coaching, influencing, challenging, giving/receiving/responding to feedback – over the phone, in writing, and via MS Teams.
