Guidance, coaching and practical support to people managers in the conduct of all day-to-day HR activities to ensure that people are managed professionally, fairly and consistently, through the line manager, to meet the best interests of the organisation and promote a positive people-centric culture.

HR inductions for all new starters to ensure that they are effectively introduced to the MWI organisation, the terms and conditions of their employment, welfare and benefits, health and safety and any other issue relating to working for the organisation. This induction should be a Day 1 priority or completed soon after joining to ensure the associate settles in and contributes quickly and to minimise the risk of early leavers
- Ensure line manager has responsibility for organising and scheduling the induction itinerary with other departments in the organisation.
- Collate all induction forms and save to personnel file
- HR administration (letters, Statements of Main Terms and Conditions of employment, references, policy updates, personnel records, etc.) ensuring legal compliance.
- Maintain Workday HRIS, ensuring accuracy and integrity of personnel records are maintained. Provide myHR support to associates and escalate issues as required.
- Maintain information and produce reports (as and when required) on standard HR KPI’s in liaison with the HRBP and Head of People.
- Discipline, grievance, and dismissal provide support to line managers, advising on procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, a defensible and fair process and outcome and MWI has a ‘firm but fair’ reputation with its associates. Ensure clear and accurate letters, notes and any other documentation relating to these processes are produced as necessary.
- Sickness absence provide sickness absence data in line with agreed process, for recording and monitoring. Advise and assist line managers to investigate and address individual absence issues to ensure associates are dealt with consistently and fairly and the impact of sickness absence on MWI’s operations are minimised.
- OH support enlisted as required.
- HR advice on the application of employment law, best practice or options for handling specific situations that arise, particularly where they involve a sanction, dismissal or action short of dismissal and for any issue that is out of the ordinary, to minimise the risks to the organisation and allow for informed management decision-making.
- Ensure that HR policies and procedures are available to staff and that policies are kept up to date. Specialist external assistance should be sought through liaison with the Head of People to up-date or redraft as necessary.
- Promote policy and policy changes to associates as appropriate and provide advice and guidance to managers on policy, policy changes and future policy direction.
- Assist the Head of People and HRBP in implementing and monitoring the MWI PDR process and subsequent actions in-line with 9-Box High Performers – development initiatives and 9-Box Low Performers – performance improvement plans.
- Delivering learning sessions and guidance on a range of HR related subjects to include but not limited to: holding absence management meetings, workplace investigations,
- Encourage and create engagement for the Learning Resource Centre in the Depot.
- Provide project assistance to the Directors, Senior Leadership Team and Management as necessary and as directed by the HRBP.
- Undertake HR development initiatives as appropriate.
- Ensure leaver documentation is completed, payroll notified and Workday updated.
- Co-ordinate exit interviews (or complete exit questionnaires) as appropriate.
- Provide administrative assistance to the MWI Management as necessary and as directed by the HRBP
- Assist the HRBP in ensuring that compliance courses are completed by associates as and when appropriate/required.
- To undertake any other reasonable HR duties as may be allocated by the Head of People / HRBP
