Role purpose
To provide accurate and timely administrative, co-ordination and analytical support, covering a broad range of people activities and processes.
This role would ideally suit someone looking to further their career in HR or to gain experience within a professional services environment.
Key responsibilities
In our team, no two days are the same. Below is a list of the types of activities you may be involved in depending upon your strengths and interests. Ultimately, this role is pivotal when it comes to giving our people a positive experience and continuing to make Higgs LLP a great place to work!
· Maintaining the HR Access system and electronic records, ensuring data is accurate and held in line with GDPR regulations
· Maintaining the movement chart (starters, leavers, changes etc) and providing accurate updates to the business on a weekly basis
· Monitoring and responding to general enquiries
· Providing HR administrative and co-ordination support to the wider team including correspondence across the employee lifecycle for example:
· Offer letters and onboarding via HR Access
· Recording absence and leave including parental leave
· Monitoring temporary contracts and any extensions
· Processing changes to terms and conditions including flexible working requests
· Administration of benefits
· Responding to reference requests
· Following leaver protocols including resignation acknowledgements, leaver letters and organising exit interviews
· Accurate and timely payroll administration and submission of data to Finance
· Post-payroll administration, letters and database updates
· Supporting the wider team with annual and ad hoc project work as needed
· Involvement in employee relation matters, particularly note taking and document preparation
· Monthly management information reports
Person specification
· Experience of working in a professional services environment is an advantage but not essential
· Confident and accurate written skills
· Demonstrable organisational skills and a proactive an approach to work
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and take the initiative to effectively prioritise
· Ability to build and maintain professional relationships
· High attention to detail and accuracy
· Discretion, tact and ensuring confidentiality at all times. This role is a position of trust and the ability to operate with integrity is paramount
· The ability to innovate and look for opportunities to make improvements
Technical knowledge
· Excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook essential
· Experience of using HR systems an advantage
· Previous experience of working in an HR or payroll team may be beneficial but is not essential
