BDS Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a well known crime reduction charity who are looking for an experienced Housing Support Workers to work with adults with mental health issues, homelessness and ex-offenders who are experiencing difficulties, based in Doncaster.
Purpose of the job
To improve the lives of vulnerable people using our services by providing direct housing related support services together with housing and property management to an individual or groups of individuals in conjunction with Senior Support Workers, Assistant Support Workers, the Team Manager and any appropriate external support agencies. You will be supporting with the aim of achieving successful move-on and other measurable outcomes. There will also be a requirement to work on your own in the community and/or service setting.
You will have experience of working with adults with mental health issues, homelessness and ex-offenders to be able to manage a large caseload and support vulnerable adults through complex issues such as ASB, re-offending, homelessness and gaining education and employment. You will be working with partner agencies such as social services, local council, police or health care providers. You will be processing referrals, carrying out assessments and providing Housing support to service users in their own homes including assisting with benefits, utilities, accessing services and rehousing.
This position is initially temporary ongoing but may have a chance of becoming permanent further down the line.
Must be a driver with access to a vehicle
Hours; Monday- Friday 9-5, 35 hours per week
Pay rate:
£11.38 ph PAYE
£15.11 ph umbrella.
