Job description
Who We Are
Central and Cecil Housing Trust, part of Aster Group, provides safe and affordable homes, mainly for people over 55 in London. Since 1926, we've helped our residents to enjoy vibrant, active and fulfilling lives. As a not-for-profit organisation, we re-invest every penny into helping our residents achieve their potential. From partnerships in fitness and the arts, to innovative technology and building inspiring homes, we support vibrant, active, and connected communities. Day to day, we live our values: 'to be pioneers, to believe in better, to do what we do from the heart, to invest in each other and to have the courage to act.'
Your Role
You’ll be working across central London on a dispersed General Needs Housing patch. As a Housing Officer you will be responsible for the successful delivery of housing and tenancy management services to the residents in your patch. You’ll have a strong focus on delivering excellent customer service, working with residents from a range of backgrounds with varying and diverse needs. You’ll work closely with internal colleagues and external partners to ensure that services are delivered in line with policy and procedure and that residents receive the support they need to live happily and safely in their homes. Customer safety and wellbeing is our priority and you’ll work closely with colleagues in the repairs and compliance teams to ensure our homes are safe and meet the required standards.
About you
The ideal candidate will be self-motivating, caring, driven and have a great eye for detail. A qualification in housing or customer services is desirable. Due to the geography of the patch access to a car or other means to travel is desirable. The following are considered essential:
Experience delivering tenancy management and sustainment services
Management of anti-social behaviour and a working knowledge of the impact of mental health, drug and alcohol on a resident and the neighbourhood
Understanding of resident engagement
Experience of handling and resolving informal and formal complaints
Experience of Housing Management Systems and Microsoft Office
Working knowledge of the income recovery process and the welfare benefit system
Knowledge and experience of child and vulnerable adult safeguarding
Reporting to the Portfolio Manager you will embrace training that is tailored to your ability to manage residents needs and improve your performance.
