Mansfield District Council is looking to employ a Housing Needs and Safeguarding Manager to lead the Housing Needs service within the wider Housing Department.
You will have a key role in a forward thinking and customer focussed service with a strong reputation for driving real change to resident’s lives through proactive and preventative means. The service includes the NICE award-winning ASSIST hospital discharge project; the Mansfield First Steps model which delivers against Housing First-type principles; a new Healthy Housing Hub supporting those with complex needs and a Supported Housing Improvement (SHIP) team.
You will lead the implementation of the council’s Homeless Strategy, provision of temporary accommodation, homeless and roughsleeping, resettlement and the Homefinder choice based lettings service. Partnership development will also be a key element of the post with health, social care and voluntary sector partners along with leading the ASSIST support and Central Control service and its future digital shift. You will also lead the council’s safeguarding approach and will be key to continuing work towards enhanced Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA) accreditation following our recent award.
