Full Time Cambridge, East of England, England 24144 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

Permanent, full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £24,144 pa rising to £24,533 from August 2023

Newnham College wishes to recruit a second permanent, full-time Housekeeping Supervisor reporting to the Deputy Housekeeping Manager, to assist her in the day-to-day running of the department. Working as part of an experienced team, this role will help ensure high standards of cleaning and a top-quality domestic service to students, Fellows, staff and guests through a combination of taking on cleaning duties and supervising the work of colleagues.

Working with one other Supervisor, it is anticipated that one will work an early shift (8am – 4pm) with the other supervisor working a later shift (10am – 6pm). Working at the weekend will alternate between the 2 supervisors, with days off in the week when on weekend duty. This is an active and varied role requiring some experience, a good level of physical fitness and a keen eye for detail. The successful candidate will have a positive can-do attitude, be adept at guiding, supporting and training their colleagues and have the ability to lead by example.

The salary is based on spine point 27 of the University’s single salary spine, which currently equates to £24,144 pa, rising to £24,533 from August 2023. The working hours are 37.5 hours per week, or 8 hours a day with an unpaid half hour for lunch, worked to a published rota and will involve alternate weekend working, therefore some flexibility is expected. The jobs attract other benefits of being a College employee, including 33 days (pro rata) a year holiday (inclusive of bank holidays), free lunches, free parking where available, free use of the College gym and access to USS the College’s attractive contributory pension scheme with a current employer contribution rate of 21.6%.
