Key Responsibilities:
· To ensure that the care home is kept clean to company standards; both in quality and in quantity terms [as per the attached ‘Daily Clean/Hygiene Check & Monthly Report’] and replace any used amenities and janitorial items and report any maintenance concerns.
· Check cleaning materials stock at end of every shift and request fresh supplies as needed.
· Position requires excellent guest service skills and must be available to work a flexible schedule.
· Such other duties as may reasonably be required.
· Help create Team-Spirit - Help avoid wastage.
· Respond to emergency alerts.
**Must be very responsive to service-user requests and be able to communicate easily with them in English. Bending and lifting are required. Read and write reports; take part in care team and residents’ meetings and in training activities as directed.
Purpose of Position:
1. To help in the proper care of the service users’ physical environment and in the general day-to-day activities of the home.
2. Work towards the Company’s objectives.
The cleaning person performs a wide variety of cleaning duties including; preventative, emergency, cosmetic and routine cleaning for the care home. Nature of work requires sustained physical effort and problem solving in performing assigned tasks. Person Specification:
Qualifications
· Minimum GCSE level education (or equivalent e.g. NVQ).
Experience
· General ‘Good Housekeeping’ experience
· Experience of carrying out work to a high standard in the following areas: Proper cleaning/presentation of; guest rooms, public areas and sanitary rooms/fittings/equipment.
· Preferred at least 2 years recent experience in similar role.
Knowledge and Understanding
· Experience of working to agreed deadlines and ensuring all work is left safe.
· Knowledge of cleaning products and equipment and their suited applications and proper maintenance of equipment (e.g. filter-cleaning and frequency of emptying of vacuum cleaners).
· COSHH Knowledge
