We have an opportunity for an entrepreneurial, team-oriented, and creative Hotel Manager to join us at Sea Containers London. Reporting into the General Manager, the Hotel Manager has responsibility for all aspects of the hotel operation including the full guest journey, employee satisfaction and on property culture. Supported by the General Manager, the Hotel Manager leads the operational management team of the hotel in the development and implementation of hotel’s day to day operation in line with Lore Group’s strategies.
In addition, the Hotel Manager builds relationships within the neighbourhood, with guests and key customers through personal involvement in the day-to-day operation of the hotel and being visible for guests and team members.

As Hotel Manager, you will be responsible for the successful operation of Sea Containers London. Some examples of your duties and responsibilities will include;
  • Create and lead a synergistic operational management team that consistently delivers positive results and continuously strives to improve these results
  • Be proactive in analysing results and work with both the operational management and regional teams to develop effective tactics to address needs
  • Champion change, ensure initiatives are implemented and communicate follow-up actions to team as necessary
  • Have an eye for detail when it comes to the hotel environment. Review public space walk-through results and ensure building is well maintained and operational areas have an atmosphere that meets or exceeds guest expectations
  • Is highly visible within the hotel and interfaces with customers and team members on a regular basis to obtain feedback on quality of product, service levels and overall satisfaction
  • Reviews guest satisfaction results and other data to identify areas of improvement. Review findings with hotel operational management team and ensures appropriate corrective action is taken
  • Supports the sales strategy and encourages the operational management team to develop effective on property tactics to support the overall revenue goals and property's financial performance
  • Ensures focus is on proactive selling as well as reactive selling within both our rooms department and our F&B outlets.
  • Perceptive of market conditions and communicates changes and potential revenue opportunities to regional leadership team. Maintains an awareness of the hotel’s market position
  • Is knowledgeable of talent in the property; identifies resource needs to strengthen the team
  • Establishes a presence with team members on property and actively solicits feedback.
  • Utilises an “open door” policy and reviews employee engagement results to identify and address problems or concerns. Ensures all team members are treated fairly and equitably.
  • Works with General Manager and Financial Controller to determine areas of concern and develops strategies to improve the property’s financial performance. Leads cost containment efforts within the hotel
  • Identifies opportunities to increase profits and create value by challenging existing processes, encouraging innovation and driving necessary change
What we are looking for
It is imperative that the Hotel Manager upholds the philosophy, culture, and values of both Lore Group, and Sea Containers London. To be suitable for the role, we are looking for candidates with the following experience and skills.
Experience:
  • At least 3 years experience in a similar role or have at least led a Rooms/F&B operation in a large, upscale and fast paced hotel environment
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Outstanding Leadership abilities with a strong focus on people, culture and guest service.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)
  • Strong organisation and analytical skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to acquire and maintain relationships e.g., stakeholders, customers, vendors, investors
  • Extensive knowledge of hotel operations including rooms, food and beverage and event management
  • Financial management skills, ability to analyse P&L s, develop budgets and forecasts
  • To demonstrate creatively and execute against the strategy and drive results
  • Ability to take constructive action without relying on directions from others
  • Ability to exercise flexibility rather than rigid adherence to procedures in order to accomplish goals
