Job Description Summary
We have an exciting opportunity available within Lloyds Banking Group. We’re looking for innovative problem solvers, team players and people with an eye for detail who are keen to make an impact within banking and financial services.

If you would like to join our Business Analyst apprenticeship programme and gain exposure to different projects and programme areas, this role is for you.
Job Description
What you’ll do:
You’ll work within the Group Chief Operating Office (GCOO), who are Lloyds Banking Group’s leaders and experts in the delivery and support of large, complex change programmes, specialising in the implementation of cross-divisional and regulatory initiatives.
The varied GCOO portfolio includes regulatory change projects in areas such as Open Banking, exciting digital capability programmes such as Digital Workplace and critical risk-focused activities such as the Technology Resilience.
You'll be responsible for requirements analysis, process design and solution design for small work packages, initiatives or small components of a larger project or product, in order to realise customer value through excellence and execution. You'll use Business Analyst skills to support the Product Owner or Project Manager to identify and understand the business need, analyse and prioritise the requirements and then assess, design, test and implement agreed solutions.
How will the Apprenticeship programme support you?
Starting in September / October 2023, you’ll be supported through your Level 4 Business Analyst apprenticeship – delivered by our trusted partner Firebrand Training, your Line Manager, in work Buddy and Apprenticeship Learning Mentor.
Whilst on the Apprenticeship scheme 20% of your time will be dedicated to ‘Mandatory Apprenticeship Hours’, which can include attending workshops, shadowing, reading, completing assignments etc. This means 80% of your role is applying your learning in the workplace, in a safe environment.
You'll gain an insight into how different large scale projects run within Lloyds Banking Group and how the resulting outputs affect our customers or different internal areas of our business. You’ll further discover how different business areas operate and function across the organisation.
This apprenticeship covers the fundamentals of business analysis and will allow you to conduct structured investigations of business situations, model processes to establish efficiencies, elicit requirements from customers, consider wider risks to change and support the business impact assessment of transformation.
The programme content covers:
  • Role of the Business Analyst – Investigation and Elicitation Techniques
  • Process and Data Modelling – Stakeholder Analysis and Management
  • Agile Business Analysis
The apprentice scheme will develop your capabilities as a Business Analyst, during which time you'll also gain knowledge or qualifications covering:
  • BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis
  • ITIL Foundation Certification
  • MSP Foundation & Practitioner
Please note – you’ll be required to be based in the location listed on this vacancy and will be expected to be in the office 2-3 days per week. Additional travel may also be required as part of this role.
As part of this role you’ll learn to…
  • Understand business problems, critically evaluating business ideas from a customer and a commercial point of view
  • Identify underlying business needs to be addressed and challenge existing practices
  • Validate requirements and proposed solutions with partners and gain approval
  • Facilitate managing the product backlog working collaboratively with the Product Owners and the delivery teams to ensure consistent understanding of the proposed solution and assist with elaboration, sprint planning activities
  • Actively contribute in defining and updating the operating model and process documentation
  • Provide domain knowledge and analysis capability
  • Support Architectural teams to ensure requirements and proposed solutions are aligned with strategy and the Target Operating Model
  • Adopt a service design mentality, responsible for ensuring a balanced and cohesive outcome
  • Encompass customer experience design, operation design and solution design, including the identification and resolution of macro and micro design decisions
  • Take responsibly for closing down debate on requirements scope to keep the delivery on track
  • Support Feature Team with testing preparation, automation and acceptance testing to ensure the solution meets the identified business need. Follow Group policies and all regulatory and statutory requirements.
What you’ll have:
We expect you to be motivated, ambitious and committed to your own development.
  • You’ll be studying towards at least one A-Level (or equivalent) or have at least one year’s work experience by September 2023 – these can include predicted grades.
  • If you haven’t already achieved GCSEs Grades 4 – 9 (or equivalent) in Maths and English, we’ll support you to complete your Functional Skills in these areas to bring you up to this level.
Application Process:
After submitting your initial application, you’ll be required to complete a Job Insight Assessment, which includes a Numerical Reasoning Test. If successful at this stage, you’ll be invited to attend a virtual assessment centre as part of the selection process. We’ll let you know as soon as we can if you have been progressed to the next stage.
