Job description

Hospitality Team Leader

The London Eye
London, GREATER LONDON, SE1 7PB
United Kingdom

Come and be part of the London skyline!

Fancy being part of the ultimate viewing experience in the heart of London? Of course, you do! At 135 metres the world-famous London Eye is the UK’s most popular paid for visitor attraction, and we’ve got our Eye out for a Hospitality Team Leader to join our dedicated team in delivering the most moving experience in London!

About the role

As Team Leader you’ll be looking after the busy day to day running of the Hospitality department, as well as managing and developing a passionate team, leading by example to deliver world class guest experiences. On a normal day (if you can call it that) you’ll be managing guest bookings - including liaising with third party stakeholders, assisting with stock control, managing staffing rotas, as well as being the on-site point of contact for all Hospitality related queries. The role will also include the day to day running of our exclusive Eye Lounge.

To make our VIP experiences truly unique, we’ll need you to have excellent organisational skills as well as an outstanding rapport with our guests. You’ll also need to have excellent communication with other departments, especially our Ride team, to ensure our premium experience guests receive the very best from start to finish.

Alongside your daily duties we’ll need you to maintain the highest standards of health and safety and you’ll have a working knowledge of safe working practices to ensure we are “protecting the magic” at all times.

This role is permanent, based upon working 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis. The current rota pattern is based upon working 2 out of 3 weekends. The London Eye is open daily and so flexibility will be needed around shifts.

About you

To reflect the premium guest service required we’d like you to have,

  • Proven supervisory experience in a busy guest facing environment, ideally within the hospitality, events or food and beverage industry.
  • The ability to quickly react to any issues that may arise and therefore prior experience in effectively dealing with problems in a fast-paced environment will stand you in good stead.
  • High levels of attention to detail as well as being motivated and organised to ensure the success of our events and experiences.
  • An awareness and experience in conducting reviews, inductions, appraisals, and interviews to help you be able to develop the leaders of the future!

Please be advised that due to the nature of the role we can only accept applications from candidates aged 18 and over.

Ultimately, we’re looking for someone who is willing to go above and beyond to help deliver unforgettable experiences that our iconic attraction deserves.

Why join us?

Alongside a truly unique working environment, we can also offer,

  • A salary of £23,545.60
  • A Merlin Magic pass – allowing free entry to attractions worldwide!
  • 40% online LEGO discount
  • 25% discount in our retail shops and restaurants
  • Access to an exclusive employee discount website
  • Employee Assistance programme
  • Life Assurance

Perhaps the biggest benefits of joining us, however, are the outstanding opportunities for career development across the expanding group.

Everyone Matters at Merlin.
At Merlin we welcome the world to our magical attractions and resorts every day and we want to reflect that same multicultural mix inside our business too. We strive to create an inclusive and diverse workplace where people can be themselves, have the same opportunities and thrive together. Because at Merlin, everyone matters! If you have any questions or if you require any assistance, because of a disability or medical condition, please contact us by email at [email protected] and one of the team will get back to you as soon as possible.
