Job Title: Hospitality Safety Steward
Hours of work: Matchdays Only
Rate: £12.38ph (matchday rate of £74.30 for 6 hours, OT available)
Location: Loftus Road Stadium
Responsible to: Hospitality Team Lead
Role Summary:
The role is one of safety within hospitality areas of the stadium. Customer care on a match day is a major part of the role.
A Safety Steward would be expected to call on a Supervisor or specialist stewards for assistance in dealing with breaches of ground regulations, and searching or ejecting. A Hospitality Steward is not normally expected to be involved with searching or ejecting spectators.
Hospitality Stewards are deployed to assist in the safe operation of the ground before, during and after an event within Loftus Road, primarily on our hospitality areas and executive boxes.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attend the Stadium at given dates and times as dictated by Match day Manager.
- Attend pre-event briefing and all training, and ensure all information is understood.
- Do not leave the stadium complex after signing in until the end of your duties.
- To be always responsible for the safety and comfort of spectators within the site.
- Direct spectators to seating areas by checking tickets.
- Assist in the prevention of overcrowding by ensuring the crowd limits in various parts of the ground are complied with.
- Monitor the crowd throughout the ground for signs of distress or overcrowding and take action in accordance with standing instructions.

- Ensure that gangways and exit / evacuation routes are kept clear.
- Assist in the diversion of spectators to other parts of the ground when the capacity for any area is about to be reached.
- Identify and investigate any incident or occurrence among spectators, reporting their findings to a Hospitality Team Lead.
- Know the location of the fire-fighting equipment at the ground.
- Know the location of the first aid room and any first aid equipment kept elsewhere in the Stadium.
- Be fully conversant with any methods or signals used to alert staff that an emergency has arisen.
- Be capable of recognising potential fire hazards and suspect packages, reporting such findings immediately to a Hospitality Team Lead or the Safety Officer.
- Comply promptly with any instruction given in an emergency by the Safety Officer,
Hospitality Team Lead or a Police Officer.
- Remain at allocated post as instructed unless authorised or ordered to do otherwise by the Hospitality Team Lead, the Safety Officer or a Police Officer.
- Report to the Hospitality Team Lead or Safety Officer any damage or defect which is likely to pose a threat to spectator safety e.g. a damaged seat or barrier.
- Assist as required in the evacuation of the ground.

Experience – Preferred
1 year customer service experience (i.e. retail/catering/hospitality)
