About the role
We are a new private day care hospital in Peterborough and plan to open early 2023. As one of only a very few private hospitals to be commissioned in recent years, this a very rare opportunity to be part of an exciting project to develop surgical and diagnostics services and support in shaping service delivery from a blank sheet of paper to ensure efficiency, free from corporate constraints.

We are looking for resilient and practical colleagues with a team spirit, who can work at pace in our healthcare environments. hours of work will be between 0700-2200, ad-hoc Saturdays.
Responsibilities will include:
Working on varied tasks in a friendly team, your main aim will be to carry out all portering duties as required and in accordance with the work schedule for your area.
- Move patients, on trolleys or wheelchairs, between wards and departments as required
- Delivering clean linen to wards and patient areas
- Collection of domestic and clinical waste, and dispose of safely, some of which may be hazardous
- Moving furniture and medical equipment safely around the building
- Transfer files, specimen samples and pharmacy boxes to different parts of the hospital
- Changing of Medical Gases cylinders for piped gases
- Assisting good in with deliveries and goods in
- Assisting maintenance with basic tasks
- Assisting with basic security tasks, ensuring the building is secure and safe
- Driving, collection and delivery of pathology samples and general goods
- Managing external areas such as car parking and pedestrian walkways in particular in winter
- Keyholder duties including unlocking and locking up the building
- Dealing with post and parcels
