Job description
Are you a university student looking for regular weekend work? Need a job with reliable work and the option to pick up more? As a care assistant you'll be fully trained in every part of the role, making it perfect for someone just starting work or looking for a career shift.
Weekends involve a split shift (~8am - 2pm & ~4pm - 9pm) for both Saturday and Sunday. Hours aren't exact and can be discussed or worked up to should we feel you're a suitable candidate.
The Role:
Day to day you'll be visiting people in their homes and conducting care. Enjoy a mix of responsibilities, from things you’ll likely be very familiar with such as cooking, cleaning, and shopping; to specialist care tasks such as administering medication and manual handling. See yourself steadily advance with us; from someone who may have never worked in care, to an experienced and knowledgeable specialist.
“You are your own boss to some extent, if you are good with people, and safe, it’s plain sailing.”
As you and your experiences grow, see your job grow with you. We offer various training programs, both as part of our induction process and as optional courses, enabling you to establish an impressive résumé and personal development. We pride ourselves on supporting our carers so if you have the desire for further courses and learning we’ll try our best to make it happen – someone who wants to go above and beyond is always valued!
“Other agencies I have worked for don’t look after their staff well or listen. Tamar Care does it’s best to accommodate everyone”
Pay is £9.50/hour during training and probation, going up to £10/hour once this has been passed, a further £15/hour when working on bank holidays, and double pay for additional picked-up work.
